Lok Satta Party – Rally against acid attacks

Lok Satta Party Tamil Nadu has conducted a rally today (3rd March 2013) morning between 7 AM and 8 AM in Marina beach, condemning the recent acid attacks on women and demanding the government to develop the medical infrastructure, take legal measures to curb attacks and to regulate the acid sales.
The rally was presided by Mr P.Shankar, Former Central Vigilance Commissioner. The rally received wide response from general public, women empowerment groups and legal fraternity.
The proposals by Lok Satta Party were read out in Tamil and English. The rally began will a one-minute silence to mourn for the acid attack victims and ended with national anthem.
The proposals will be submitted to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon’ble Home Minister, Hon’ble Minister of Health, Hon’ble Minister of Industries and Hon’ble Chief Justice of Madras High court.
