Lok Satta Party is happy to inform that the Government run liquor shop (TASMAC shop) in Mylapore has been closed from yesterday, yielding to our protests. The shop was located in a residential area and had been a menace for the citizens.
We took efforts in mobilizing people to protest against the shop and constantly followed up with government officials for its closure. Lok Satta Party would like to thank members of Satta Panjayaththu Iyakkam, Makkal Mathu Ozhippu Iyakkam and social activists for their support.
We organized a function yesterday in that area to felicitate the people who were actively involved in the protests against the liquor shop. This would set a precedent and would create awareness among people of other areas and would empower them to resolve their area issues by themselves.

Jagadheeswaran, State Women’s wing President Mrs. Elizabeth Seshadri, Treasurer Mr. Ashok Rajendran, Chennai district membership secretary Mr. Palanikumar, State Youth wing Secretary Mr. Jai Ganesh, State executive members Mr. Ravichandran and Mr. Pravin participated in the event.
