Lok Satta Party demands Right To Services
Monday, September 23rd, 2013 @ 11:14PM
The Lok Satta Party has been demanding the implementation of ‘Right To Services’ act in Tamil Nadu. As per the RTS act, every public authority is obligated to publish a citizen’s charter and should ensure time-bound service for all government services. In case if there is any delay from the prescribed time limit, the applicant/beneficiary of the service should be compensated for the delay. This would greatly benefit the common man and would drastically curb bribery in government offices.
As a part of the demand, leaders of Lok Satta Party in 4 districts – Chennai, Tiruppur, Coimbatore and karur, have given the petition to the district collector to issue citizen’s charter and ensure time-bound services in government offices in their respective districts.
To implement the act throughout the state, Lok Satta’s state president D.Jagadheeswaran has given representation to Hon’ble Chief Minister and Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu.
