CCTV cameras in MTC buses welcome move. But focus should be on maintenance aspects considering the current plight of buses. GPRS which was introduced some time back is a failure because of maintenance issues. Earlier there were digital boards in bus stops to indicate the bus timings and statuses. This too was scrapped due to poor maintenance. CCTV cameras should not end with the same fate. Also CCTVs should be in bus stops and bus stands.
Land acquisition for 31 colleges – Unemployment is an issue in Tamil Nadu. To create jobs the Focus should be on ITIs.
The statement from the government that there is no power cut in the state is a farcical one. The party believes that acknowledging that a problem exists is the first step in solving the problem.
It is undemocratic to not allow opposition parties to raise important issues like Seshasamudram, Mekadatu dam, NLC. Andhra killings, Liquor issue etc.. Also the 9 days term for assembly functioning is very less. The number of assembly working days should at least be 120 days per year.
